Easy, $1,500-2k if you do your homework and get a decent tune

Very easy and not that expensive. However you may want to be carefull about hitting the peak rated hp for the bottom end at 400hp at the crank which is close to 300awhp in the gsx. 300awhp was my goal for my car with my new head/cams ect... About 5 hours after the new head a rod started knocking. I would highly suggest building your bottom end if your trying to hit a 300awhp or higher goal.

well its a 7 bolt so what would u recomend for most hp to try to get. while being safe from crankwalk. at least untill i get a new crank.

Re: How hard/much money would it be to hit 300whp in my 99 gsx?

Well to avoid CW I kept the stock clutch in. I have heard more than one story about a dsm with a good bit of miles on it and it running fine. Then the person put in a heaver clutch and had CW problems in no time.

The maximum HP you want is up to you. Depends on how reliable you want it. Basically, the farther away from the 400hp maximum you are the safer you are unless you go with a forged bottom end. I read and saw stock 7 bolt blocks that pushed well over the 400hp mark and were fine. So I figured I would be okay getting close to 380-400...wrong. If you decide to get upwards of 350hp or that area a very good tune is a must.

As for the parts... Evo 316g can just get you there which means you save on a lot of other things. Your going to need 680cc's a rewired walbro 190lph fp link or Safc, 3 inch turboback, a boost gauge, boost controller, logging software, a/f gauge (recommended), a better BOV and a FMIC kit, intake with cone filter and now you are safely around 300 whp
