02 mountaineer, inside ticking noise

I have a 02 mountaineer and in the rear inside drivers side there is a panel that comes off. Where that panel comes off is a device and that device is making a loud ticking noise. Anyone know what that device is and why it is ticking???????

Re: 02 mountaineer, inside ticking noise

I believe I have the answer to all trying to find that inside ticking noise comming from the driver rear. I unforuntatly have the problem myself, and have hunted it down it is a little motor in the rear ac unit that moves the baffle between hot and cold air I called for on the part and it costs around $75 I believe i didnt replace it didnt have them money instead i just rigged it to stay on hot and only use the rear ac during winter you can take the rear ac unit apart and unplug the motor to get rid of that annoying clicking sound. I hope this post helps
