Thumbs up 94 Prelude SI (me) Vs. Mazdaspeed (him)

So I was on the highway with my brother and this Mazda 6 I think, It was the Mazdaspeed, and he came up on me and so my brother was like "You're gunna lose" So I was like IDC, so he took off and I dropped 3rd on the first race and i pulled on him pretty damn good. Then we do it again, he gets a running start on me, while im going 65, I see him in my mirror comming up fast so I drop 3rd again, and I still pull on him, hitting about 110.
He flashed his headlights, came up next to me and was like "Is it stock?"
I said no, and he said "Pull into the applebees let me see your engine"
So we get to the applebees, he pops his hood, he's got intake, motor mounts, short shifter, and new header, along with racing wheels, tires, and a Carbon Fiber hood.
All I have in mine as of now is Ram-Air intake, short shifter bracket, and 2.5" exhaust piping witha small tip. I have some Megan Racing 4-2-1 Headers at my house, and I still need to install them. So yeah, I guess Mazdaspeeds are slow considering an almost-stock prelude SI beat him.
So I hear all the lame-ass excuses on why I ate him, and me and my bro just laughes. Ask my brother, it was pretty funny. He's an A-F moderator, I thing he's AudioGuy93DelSol or something. Message me and tell me what you think :]

That guy must suck at driving. A Mazdaspeed6 should wax your prelude really bad. Not doubting your kill, just saying that they are not slow.

Re: 94 Prelude SI (me) Vs. Mazdaspeed (him)

idk, i heard the mazdaspeed6 is a dead horse up top. Who was it on here that did a review on one and said it felt like the turbo just stopped spooling after 5k RPMS? Try it from a dig, he should roast you, otherwise hes one really sucky driver.

I think that was Musashi or Gotian. But if I recall right it only does that as you are breaking it in. After break in time I think that it does not shut off anymore so it serves as a a form of protection from breaking something.

Re: 94 Prelude SI (me) Vs. Mazdaspeed (him)

Well I beat him a good 3 or 4 times. And he didn't win one. But Idk, I also have a rebuilt engine. But we did a quick race from a red light aka dead stop and I pulled on him again. Oh well :]

Re: 94 Prelude SI (me) Vs. Mazdaspeed (him)

I used to think the same thing Mush, but appearently, we didn't get the memo where headers now also refer to manifolds and all the other non intake or cat back parts of a car...

Re: 94 Prelude SI (me) Vs. Mazdaspeed (him)

turbo manifold = header ... for the most part. They do the same thing.

But one should call a turbo manifold just that. It tends to confuse folks even if they know better.

But if he had all that done to the car, I find it hard to believe he got pulled on by a '94 Prelude with not much done to it. Interestingly interesting.

Re: 94 Prelude SI (me) Vs. Mazdaspeed (him)

Well then call it a turbo manifold!
Still theres no way that a Prelude will pull on a boosted car with 50+ more HP. Its a damn lucky win! I bet the Mazda driver is still kicking himself in the ass, that ougtha teach him to drive it right.

Re: 94 Prelude SI (me) Vs. Mazdaspeed (him)

That's the thing. I was reading about the Mazdaspeed and it said it's turbo, but his didn't have one, so I'm guessing he was trying to be all cool and just put the badge on it.
