My car won't start

Anyone. . .PLEASE HELP! My car won't start at all. It is a 93.5 G, anyhow, it's been starting really slowly lately, and its not the battery, because everything works fine. The engine just doesn't even turn over anymore. Whats up with that? For christs sake, my car is sitting in my girlfriends driveway, and I have to drive her fucking Escort around today. Please help me.
-Dan
P.S. I'm also selling my G20 if you are interested, and in the Michigan area. he he

Lightbulb

Are you able to turn on your radio or roll down pwr windows. If so this could be your starter or possibly your fuel pump.

:flash:

When you turn the key does it just make a click click sound? It takes a lot of juice to start a car. I'm thinking it is your battery, but you really haven't described much about the symptoms.

the battery is good

Ok, the battery fires up just fine, like my radio works, all my windows work, and my lights work. When I turn the key, it makes the "click", but after that nothing. The engine doesn't even start to turn over. Anyhow, please help me some more. If it is the starter, how do I replace that? If it is the fuel pump, how do I replace that?
Thanks is advance.

Tap on the starter with a decent wrench, not hard enough to dent the casing but what you are doing is freeing any carbon build up. After tapping it a couple times (it can be done from the top of the engine) it will start IF THE STARTER IS WHAT'S GIVING YOU THE PROBLEM. It could also be the fuel pump. If you're radio and everything works, I going to say it's not your alternator. Check the starter first. You get the click click...good. Trust me, you don't want to replace an ignition switch.

Assuming your battery is good enough, then it's your starter. Try the give it a bash trick as mentioned above.

If it was your fuel pump or alternator your engine would still turn over.

got it fixed. . .

Ok, it was the starter. I found a refurbished one at some janky ass local shop, and I installed it yesterday. Everything is ok now, however, my engine idles kinda low, should this concern me?

That's odd. I'm having exactly the same problem right now. No symptoms before this happened. I went to my car, pushed in the pedal, everything works fine, but all I get is a "click". I even double checked the clutch-petal engine stop switch, and pushed it in manually. Made no difference. I went back to the car about two hours later, and it started no problems. I turned the ignition on and off several times, and it started fine except for a slight popping noise just after starting the engine. Then when I got back home again, it stopped working again.

This could also be a failing starter problem. When you said push in the pedal, which one were you referring too?

The clutch pedal.

I haven't had a chance to have the car checked yet. I'm hoping its just a dead battery, especially after seeing the price of a new starter. The battery currently in my car is old and due for replacement, so I'll keep my fingers crossed.

Where is the starter located on a P10? The car's sitting in a parking lot, making it hard to get enough light into the engine area, especially since its pretty cluttered.
