Need to buy used truck good mpg and can tow.
I am looking to buy a used small truck or SUV that has good mpg and can tow up to 3000 lbs trailor without a problem. I am looking mid to late 90s' and nothing too big, mainly because I would like the best mpg when I am reguarly driving it. I have loked at 3.0l rangers, but 8 do not know if they could pull the load ok a highway speeds. Any recommendations please?

Re: Need to buy used truck good mpg and can tow.
How good mpg are you looking for? The best one that i could find that seems to fit both worlds is an Isuzu Rodeo. The 3.2 V6 can tow up to 4500 and EPA rating for newer ones is pretty good compared to others in its class (18-19 city, 20-24 highway). I know that any Chevy/GMC with a 4.3 V6 will tow 3k easily, but gas mileage is horrible (my 4wd blazer gets 13 in city). Toyotas will do the job, but again, fuel mileage tends to not be that great (V6 anyway). My suggestion is to check epa ratings for all vehicles you consider and post in the proper AF forums and ask owners what MPG they get. Keep in mind also that 2wd will get better mpg than 4x4.
