Proportion advice needed

Hi guy's .

I just started getting back into drawing and want to try my hand at cars but i have no clue on how to go about getting the portions of the cars.

I found a tut on proportions from the side but i have no intrest in side views i am intrested in this type of view.

The side view tutorial used the wheels and car height for proportions of the car so does that way work for the other view of the car or is there a better way other than the grid option??

Also some good tutorials for car drawing would be good also

Thanks for any help

Re: Proportion advice needed

Well if you can handle the transition from sideview to perspective view, the side view proportions tut should help you aswell. Just draw some guidelines to the reference, then you can set the proportions by yourself. You know, there are like 1000 different car shapes and 100.000 different possible angles cars were photographed at, so it's hard to tell about specific proportions in a perspective view.

I guess guidelines like the lines to the vanishing points would help most.

Re: Proportion advice needed

I Know a picture and stuff can be taken at all angles and stuff but im looking for some tip's and suggestion's on the best way's to size up the proportion's of any given picture.

I also seem to be haveing major trouble with perspective by that i mean the perspective always seem's way out.

So any tip's on perspective would be great i found a little diagram with convergance line's and horizon line's and stuff but im not too sure how you go about drawing those line's in releation to the reference pic

Yes i know im useless

Give a check on the web. Type in drawing perspective. Here's one link that I found but there are many of them and some feature cars.
