A new drawer from Germany

Hello Folks,

I am a student from Germany.

This is an automotive forum, so I have to say that I have a special liability to American cars, but I do not skip other automobiles of course

While searching with google, I found this nice Forum. I also drew a lot of cars, and I want to show a few of them to you to get some (I hope) fair and helpful criticism.
I got some finished and a lot of unfinished work here... let's start with the completed ones. For sure I am not a professional artist, but I mostly try to do it as good as possible.

This is a fictional Touring Car; I just practised drawing a wheel. After a time I finished it to a car besause I was bored. Drawn with various pencils.

That's a Nismo I sketched in a boring class lesson .
Also created with pencils. Usually I do not draw many japanese cars.

Now let''s have a look at some coloured images.

An AC Cobra, I think this is one of my best drawings so far. It took me a long time and a lot of sketches until it was finally finished. Created with crayons and a pencil.

Take a look at this Volkswagen Beetle. Drawn the same way as the Cobra - with much patience.

Here you can see a few parts of my incomplete pictures. Most of them are just fastly-done sketches, because usually I am not a very patient person. I chose some pictures to post here.

First, a Ferrari F40, I tried to shade the red (crayon) with a black charcoal. Needs to get a nice background and some rims

A Chevy Camaro from 1989; here also rims are missing (I hate drawing them). The reflection belongs to an (I hope soon) up-coming background.

I tried to draw a car in this cartoonish way, you see the Result. Also this is not yet finished

And my latest one, also a Suhsi maker , the Mazda RX-7. It is supposed to look very cartoonish, for that effect I used a black marker for dark reflection. I am working at this one right now. As you can see, this car did not get rims yet, too

Alright, that's it for now.
Maybe I will scan and upload some more drawings later.

(please excuse my English; maybe my text is hard for you to understand)

edit: Well, I noticed, the word 'artist' might sound a bit big-headed... that's not my intention. Sorry!

Willkommen auf AutomotiveForums.com!

I like your drawings, they all look good. My favorite is the Beetle, it's perspective looks quite good.

I also like that you took your time and commented on each drawing, I guess this gives other members more motivation to comment it, as they see you're taking it serious here.

I can't understand your dislike for Japanese cars, I think this FD3S you drew there is a beautiful car. However, I'm goint to take a closer look at your stuff tomorrow.

I'm writing this in English so that everybody else around here can understand it, too.

Wenn du bock hast, adde mich mal im ICQ oder MSN.

Re: A new artist from Germany

Hello Carsten!
I admire your work. Following your progression since years now I noticed your great skills. You are limiting your work not only on cars, although you put the main emphasis on them. I can only draw cars^^. I like "sushi racers". Of course not all so I like not all german cars. I hate VW^^'. So either you guessed it now or you noticed it in result of my bad english. I'm not from an english speaking country but another guy from Germany, new in this forum (it is great!) and yeah I know this guy. Thanks for the link Carsten!
