Quick swap question...

Is it possible to take a 3000GT VR-4 engine and swap it into a GSX?

Has this already been done? How much would it cost?

Re: Quick swap question...

No. It may have been done some time, some where but its a rediculous swap seeing as how many DSM's already have a 4g63 which is, IMO, far superior to the 6g72.

Play nice yall...

True story. I once knew a guy who was 6'5 or so, long blond hair. Real name Thor, and drove a yellow Toyota truck with a big sticker in the back window that said "God of Thunder". It was called the Thunder truck.

I know that was random but I was reading your sig.

To the man who posted the question. The answer is no, always no.

Re: Quick swap question...

For all the money that you spend just getting the engine to fit...you could use to make the 4G63 engine that is already in there a whole lot faster that just that stock motor inthat car....But if you think about it...the VR4 engine barely fits in the car it is in now....how are you planning on fitting that under a hood that is designed for a 4 cyl?

Excellent plan... I couldn't have done it better myself.

Re: Quick swap question...

3000 gts are made of cheese anyways. Rarley do you see a built vr-4 (unless it's our good'ol DSM friend the Galant) being driven, and that is becasue there driveline sucks, hense my word cheese, because that is what it is made of. Plus, the 4g is a much better built and modded engine anyways. Don't even think about it in my opinion.

Re: Quick swap question...

I love these threads.

I think the new rule should be that no motor swap questions are allowed, unless it involves a 6-bolt swap into a 2g. But that's just my opinion and everyone knows what they say about opinions.

If not, we could have a standard answer of something like "Yep, it's an easy swap and will take an extra hour of fabrication and $100 in additional parts."

Re: Quick swap question...

I have been in great contemplation about all the "motor swap" threads we get every year. Something will be done here soon about those sorts of threads...
