AMT 2006 Camaro Concept

I hadn't planned on getting one of these but happened to see one on E-bay so thought I might as well have a go at it. There's been posts on various forums pointing out the fitment issues so inview of this I decided to glue the hood shut & build it kerbside. The rims are Aoshma Luxy type 3 with Racing Hart trim rings & Revell tuner series tyres.

The body has been sprayed with VW Brilliant Orange and the Yenko decals were left overs from the Revell 69 kit - It still needs clearcoating.

Sorry for the poor quality of the 2nd pic taken late @ night - thanks for looking
Andy

I love this car! But as I read the WIPs, the kit begins to be infamous
Anyway, I ordered mine, get next weekend, I'm curious!

Hi,

body looks good so far. Any plans on the interior or do you intend to build it stock?

Hi Micha
It'll just be stock - colour will be black with orange inserts
Cheers
Andy

Re: AMT 2006 Camaro Concept

Sounds good, Andy.

I have the kit, too, and didn´t decide how to build it. Interior doesn´t look so crisp.

Just a tip: a friend of mine built it and had lots of fitting problems, so watch out and do lots of test-fitting

Re: AMT 2006 Camaro Concept

Just a quick update - clearcoat's been polished out & most of the exterior details fitted:

Not sure about those exhaust tips
Thanks for looking

Wow, I can't believe the Yenko decals fit so properly on this car. Great work!

Wow. I'm used to seeing high quality builds from you Andy, but this looks stunning! The colour, decals and wheels all look SO right!

Re: AMT 2006 Camaro Concept

Yenko Decals are an AWESOME idea! Yet another stunner from Andy. This kit is kinda lacking in engine details anyway, so we're not gonna miss much with the hood glued shut.

Re: AMT 2006 Camaro Concept

Hi!

OFF: I got my Camaro yesterday, and it's worse than i thought.
It has 2 main problems:
First: the body is too smooth, lots of edges missing, it's not easy to replace... and 2 panel lines missing.
Second: the wheels are smaller than should. F19" and R20" instead of F21" and R22" ( /25 of course. anyway, i dont find any 1/25 on the box or the sheet)
Also, the engine and the engine bay isn't realistic, the interior is poor and wrong shaped. The chrome is ugly, the wheel spokes have deep sinks, and the decal is a joke. But who cares, this is the smallest bad, there are almost no chrome on the real concept... The suspension is poor too. Luckily i saw no images of the ZETA platform, so i guess nothing about it, maybe ok

ON: Andy, this will be a nice built!
