AWD flywheel on FWD car
OK, so I took my stock flywheel from my 97GSX and gave it to a friend. And it fits his 95tsi fwd. How is a awd flywheel fitting a fwd car when everyone keeps saying that it shouldnt. It fits perfectly and the clutch too.

Re: AWD flywheel on FWD car
I was under the impression that the AWD flywheels were lighter than the FWD ones were?

Re: AWD flywheel on FWD car
Either way, they arent supposed to be compatible so I wouldnt use it even if it does "fit". Your car though, just be prepared to fix it if shit goes wrong.

Re: AWD flywheel on FWD car
IIRC, FWD flywheel is a larger diameter and won't phsyically fit in the bellhousing. The AWD flywheel will fit in the FWD bellhousing, but good luck starting the car.
This is all from old memories, so I reserve the right to be wrong.

Re: AWD flywheel on FWD car
You are correct Kevin. The FWD flywheels do have larger diameters then the AWD flywheels. Just becasue it bolts to the crank, doesn't mean that it fits.
