2000 Intrigue P0101 P0410

Got my codes read at Autozone and had them reset the codes. As of this writing they are still off. I just replaced the Crankshaft Position Sensor yesterday and the service engine light was off. While driving the car last night for 50+ miles it kicked back on.

P0101 Mass or Volume Air Flow Circuit Range/Performance Problem
P0410 Secondary Air Injection System Malfunction

Other than the obvious MAF sensor I see from other posts that it could also be the catalytic converter.

Any other suggestions are appreciated.

Re: 2000 Intrigue P0101 P0410

i've had the Mass Air flow code pop up twice on my Intrigue. having read others with this problem, I knew changing the Mass air sensor is the last resort.

I changed the air filter; cleaned the mass air flow sensor; really cleaned the throttle body as it was sticking. this worked both times. Mine seems to happen when I get severe carbon buildup on the throttle body plate. After doing this, the CEL went off within 5 miles and has not returned.

Not sure about the P0401 code.

401 is Auxiliary AIR system, not the cat, could be the hose off the air pump or a bad check valve in the air system.

mine right now has the same code: 410. i was told at the dealer that there were two valves at the bottom of the air pump that werent holding any suction. price: $250 apiece. mine has a tendency at surging at idle on occasion

Re: 2000 Intrigue P0101 P0410

there is a TSB, here's the jist of it..........

Bulletin No.: 04-06-04-037
Date: May 27, 2004

Subject:
Check Engine Light On, DTC P0410 Set, Water in AIR Pump (Replace AIR Pump, Install New Hose and Shield)

Condition

Some owners may comment on the check engine light being illuminated. Upon investigation, the technician may find a DTC P0410 indicating that there is a concern in the secondary air injection system. When removing the air pump, the technician may also note evidence of water intrusion in the secondary air injection pump.

Cause

Water may have collected in the AIR pump and frozen or corroded the pump.

Correction

Replace the Secondary Air Injection Pump and install a new hose, shield and cleaner

Re: 2000 Intrigue P0101 P0410

Is this the GM part # that I need for a Secondary Air Injection pump?
12561866

What about the "shield"? Does that have a part number?

Thanks.

Question Re: 2000 Intrigue P0101 P0410

Another question regarding that secondary pump replacement. Will the problem just happen again or does the replacement prevent that condition from reoccuring? Anyone have experience with this?
