3.0L Duratec Boring and Stroking
Are there any forged pistons and rods for the 3.0L Duratec? I'm also looking for a stroker kit. Thanks

Not to mention, youll have custom rods made unlike the "off the counter" forged rods in the link I provided above. Not only that, but youll have to sacrifice some of that nice top end power due to a shorter stroke. Its really not worth it. Not even the 7 sec drag cougar uses a stroker motor if that tells you anything. ![]() If your next question is, can I bore the cylinders of 3.0L bigger? The short answer is no. The water jackets are too close to gain any significant hp from increasing the displacement. A cougar guy on NECO did bore his to a 3.2L but honestly, the gains are minimal and could be better well spent on a set of high compression pistons. If you are feeling lucky, you could buy a fully built 3.0L duratec from 1gracing who build the motors for the 400 hp turbocharged Noble M400. Cost is right around $4300. ![]() Cougar4life is right. You honestly should join the cougar or the contour forums. TONS of information and questions like this are covered in the FAQs since they get asked so many times. Theres tons of knowledgebase on either forum since old timers like myself have seen every aftermarket part come into existence or be discontinued since the vehicle was made.

Thanks for the info. I think I've got everything I need to inteligently post questions on the cougar forums. But I may wait until I actually get a cougar. Thanks BeyondLoadedSE for all the info.
