95 GCL not fired after overheating

I have a 95 GCL, on occasion will not start but after sitting for a while it starts up. Had it check out when it would not start and was told it's not firing. Can anyone tell me what causes this to happen?

if the spark plugs arent firing there is probably an issue with the distributor. it might need replacing, along with spark plugs and wires.
