Anti-lock brakes VS. Airbags
I can't seem to figure this out... maybe somone can break this down to me in a way i would understand it
07' Aveo 5 comes Standard with Driver/Front Passenger Front and Side Impact Airbags but you have to pay $425 extra to get ABS i wish i would have looked into this further before buying i just assumed all newer vechicals came with ABS this is probably why i have noticed some diffrence in braking from my last vechical sorry if this sounds like venting! but im confused of why they would skimp on brakes up increase airbags Tom |

Re: Anti-lock brakes VS. Airbags
What is the difference you have been seeing?
ABS is really no different than non-ABS until the wheels lock up in a skid. Then the computer takes over and "pumps" the brakes (a thousand times faster than the human foot can). Some people do not like ABS so I can see that as an option to be chosen, as opposed to passive restraint systems that are invisible to the driver until needed. --Mike |

Re: Anti-lock brakes VS. Airbags
thumber is right. you can either pump the brakes manually or have the computer do it for you. its like a transmission. you either can have a manual and shift gears yourself or pay more to have the computer do it for you and get the automatic. its all what you want out of your car.
