Omg my car sucks..

So I went to the track tonight to run my rex before I move on to another car. Just out of curiosity for what it actually could do.

Boy was I disappointed..
My cars best time was 16.069!
Most of my runs were about 16.1 +/- .05
Its not that I expected it to be a rocket, but a stock CRX Si was running the same times!

There had to be something severely hindering my performance.
I spent the day getting the car in running order to go to the track, I got rid of all trouble codes except for my knock sensor, which turned out to be dead (the one I bought to replace it off ebay..). But either way, I could get an entire run before it would throw a code so I wasnt running it with a CEL, and I couldnt tell while I was racing but later on the way home my car was hitting vtec..however I was throwing a code which was EXTREMELY noticable.

Oh well..at least I kicked the crap out of a 240 and some moron with his SVT focus lmao...

Makes me not feel so bad about moving up to a GS-R

yeah something isnt right if u ask me..and it sure isnt one man's trash. with what you have done to your car i dont see you having a problem dipping high 14's low 15's??? i mean even a low to mid 14 is possible depending on where your at and if u have any skills behind the wheel. heck even if ur aurora is packing the l47 northstar ud clock in better times! r u constantly throwing all kinds of diff CEL's?

Did you remove your subs? A torqueless car out of the hole with extra unnecessary weight will kill 60ft times and ultimately final 1/4 times. What was your reaction time, 60ft, 1/8th, etc.?

HAHA yeah I removed the subs! Whole car was empty. Just the interior and me. Hell there was even a 4door lx WITH subs blasting meximusic that was running around the same times as me.

My R/t was .3-.5 everytime. and my 60ft were 2.5-2.7 with one messed up 2.8

Oh and yeah the Aurora did have the northstar...till it died at 110k mi its gone. Burns all of its oil in one day and all of the coolant as well.

Sucks to hear about your day at the track. I'd say pick up a cheap LS block and slap your B16 head on that and build yourself an ls/v. B16s are way too torqueless.

I felt the same way a several years ago. I just bought a 2002 civic ex slapped some bolt ons to her and thought I was the cats pajamas. Went to the track with a few buddies and talked it up like I was hot stuff. Needless to say the car did not get good times as I had hoped, She ran a 17.2 all day long.

THen I got a 96 Camaro SS as a race car good on the straights but I like a car that can turn and stop on a dime, now I am trying to get back into the smaller japanese cars, I love them to death and love working on them.

lol doesnt 02 ex's run 16's stock? anyways u are the cats pajamas now with your 96 SS...beautiful cars and hard to find nemore in good condition. they were one of my most fav cars in high school..but i bought a mint black 93 cobra instead lol wasnt hard for lt1's to lay the smackdown till i got some twisted wedge heads and edelbrock intake mani with 4:10's

But she does have over 2,000 dollars in emergency warning lights, and radio equipment, So if you are ever in Kane County Illinois driving down the road and are Drown in a sea of Blue warning lights from a 96 SS you know its me!!!

oh shit uh whacker lol guessed i failed to mention i was also a emt from 97-02 and then my cert expired..also was a explorer and damn close to getting my ff1..intresting you got strobes or LED's? ahh hopefully you have everything concealed..dash misers and marker headlight strobes..otherwise that be gay unless u had a mini edge strobe car..u prolly got t-tops neways..which there is a local around here with a special bracket for his 98 z28 which relocates the bar a little above his rear windshield cause he got t-tops gay lookin if u ask me
