1997 GMC Sierra 4X4 Speedo question?
Hello all,
I just bought this truck last Friday, the truck has the stock tire size on it 245/75R16 on it. The speedometer reads 7 miles per hour faster then the truck is actually going. Would this be the speed sensor going bad? No check engine light and the truck runs great. Thanks, Sellncars

Quote:
Not usually. First thing get it on a engine/transmission capable scanner and check the MPH reading in scanner with the speedometer reading. MT

It is possible that the previous owner had been running a bigger tire and had the ecm reprogrammed.
