Engine swap
A friend of mine bought a '99 Bonneville with a bad motor. He got a 3.8 from a website that said it was out of a 2005 Impala. Should this be a seamless swap or will he have to change out the ecm or anything else?

Re: Engine swap
the 2005 Impala still has the VIN-K 3800, so it should be a fairly painless swap. The newer VIN-2 3800 have the drive-by-wire throttle body (no accelerator cable) so they are quite different. You may need to swap some sensors and such, as the Impala was offered with both guages and idiot lights, and there are subtle changes from year to year.
