Saab 1991 234 Timing and Balance Drives Replacement
1991 Saab 9000 CD 234 NA 16 valve with 227146 miles lost Balance Drive Crankshaft Gear. Attempting to replace ALL damaged Timing and Balance Drives’ Guides with Cylinder Head still attached. Well I know, “Can’t be done”, is the immediate answer, but what about, “removing the tensioner guide pivot stud” to remove the Timing Chain pivoting Chain Guide.
Are there any known techniques for removing pressed-in engine block studs? Here are some pic of the pivoting stud, it is pressed-in. SAAB engine frontend 1.jpg SAAB engine frontend 2.jpg Well if no go on, “removing the tensioner guide pivot stud”, my only resolve is to remove Cylinder Head. Will I have to replace head bolts with head stud, re-use, or new? SAAB head bolt 1.jpg SAAB timing cover 1.jpg |
