Car quit

My car is Eagle Vision 3.5 L 93 model. Last week I was hearing sounds similar to that of water boiling or air being sucked into water. As my work place is only a mile away it didn't trouble me much.

Yesterday, I had to travel for 15 miles across town. At the end of the journey when i braked fumes started coming out of the hood and I noticed that the engine had overheated. I got out of the car and noticed that some fluid had leaked from under (probably from the passenger front side).

After a little while when the car had cooled down i started it and it started just fine. I didn't risk driving it and had it towed to my place.

Today I had noticed that the coolant had all leaked out and filled it up with water and started the car. It started fine and after few mintues it stopped. Could n't get to start it again. It just cranks but doesn't start.

Apart from refilling the coolant, could there be any other reason?

Looking forward to suggestions/comments.

Thank You.

Hari

Re: Car quit

I'm just guessing but did you check if the leakage came from the pump? If so, the pump could gone bad which could couse your timing belt to jump. In this case computer wouldn't allow car to start to prevent engine damage.
