99 ga that won't start
I have a 99 grand am. It will turn over but won't start. if you leave it sit for about 30 mins it starts up and runs fine. no check engine light and no security light. It only does first thing in the morning or when it sits for over 7 hours. And every once in a while the car will flash its lights and lock the doors but as far is i know it does not have remote door locks but it does have power locks. any clue in this small problem.

Re: 99 ga that won't start
Welcome to AF.
So yore saying it has troubles starting when cold ... Could be a low/discharged battery, check the cables too. Might be a clogged fuel filter or injectors not working properly. Bad spark plugs, intake manifold leak/vacum leak. Or some other part of the ignition system is faulty. on the possesed lights/locks, its hard to say could be due to low battery. Your car might also hav power locks even though you dont have a key fob.

Re: 99 ga that won't start
I've seen these cars actually have a PK2 security issue but the light doesn't come on. I just worked on a '99 Malibu which is the same platform that had simular issues. Ended up being a bad instrument cluster. The only other problem they had was that the gauges would quit working as they drove the car sometimes. If it wouldn't start, you could beat the dash hard enough to make it work again.
