Lamp control module keeps blowing out!!!
I was living in seattle, and I recently moved down to phoenix. I towed a u-haul trailer behind me the whole way and somewhere around Bakersfield CA all the running lights excpet for the rear passenger side on my truck went out. I ended up discovering that the lamp control module had blown out, so I replaced it, but that still didn't bring back my running lights. I then replaced all the light bulbs, and checked all the fuses which were good, and still no running lights (except for one)!!!!! Now I have no running lights at all and my second lamp control module has blown out!!! Can anyone tell me what could possibly be wrong with my truck!? Also, the digital screen in the center console always tells me when I have a light out, but it for some reason is not telling me that my running lights are out! Any advice would be greatly appreciated! Thanks!

Re: Lamp control module keeps blowing out!!!
Well, it sounds to me like you might have a short that is causing the blow outs. Might want to check your wires starting with the trailer electrical connector(since that was when you first started having issues).
I also have problems with LOM but have all my lights working and have checked all wires, bulbs(correct bulbs), and fuses. I replaced the LOM and it still gives me the "rear lamp failure" message. Only comes on if I hit my brake pedal after starting up, if I drop it in gear without hitting brake it won't show up till I hit pedal, was thinking the brake pedal switch might be bad? |
