Norton Manx 500cc

It's finally finished

Last week I spent my time to finish the last parts of the Manx.

The fueltank was very difficult but with some modifications I managed it to fit it right on the frame.

I took a lot of pictures (hope you do'nt mind)

I think it looks very realistic.

The kit was pretty horrible. It has a lot of details but they look not realistic i think, so I removed all the nuts and bolts and replaced them for real one.
Much better in my opinion. The fitment was also a problem. Especially placing the fuelltank and put the engine in the frame was very thight and difficult.

I wil give this kit as figure a 6.

I hope you enjoyed the W.I.P. and like the result!

Thanks for watching and for all the tips.

Kris.

Very cool model. What scale is it and who is the manufacturer of the kit?

This is a REVELL Kit of the Norton.
I also bought this one.

By the way, I love the completed model. You wrote that you used real bolts. Are they from a watch or something?

Re: Norton Manx 500cc

The only thing that looks bad on this bike is those fat spokes. I guess these are a bit hard to redo, I for sure I wouldn't dare to try it, but moulded spokes are always on the thick side. Other than that jour job with this kit is fantastic. I've followed the WIP and I must say that your eye for the details are great. The tank and the chain area are the best parts in my opinion.

I bought some bolts for R/C airplanes but they are very expensive. So I searched for cheaper bolts and found it by a local glassesservice (thing for your eyes ) and I got them for free after I told him what I wanted to do with these bolts.

I know the spokes are a bit to thick but this is my first serious bike i've build and remake those spokes was just a bit to much for me. I'll do that with my next oldtimer!

Thanks for compliments guys! I know this is not a japanese driftcar so I don't expect much feedback

Re: Norton Manx 500cc

Even thought I followed the build, this turned out fantastic!

I love the whole project! I am not into much vintage builds, but I would definitely do this one.
