1999 GT Theftlock radio

Im sure youve heard this question 1000 times.

I have a 99 grand am GT, I bought it from my neighbor when he was going to trade it. I actually had to buy it back from the dealer because he had already traded.

Great car but anyway, I have the delco theft lock radio and he said the manual was never with the car so I had to buy one on ebay so Ive never had the lock code.

Changed my battery a few months ago and cant unlock it, dealer says i have to make an appointment and let service do it.

What a complete pain in the A.

Where can I buy a lock code so i have it for my use everytime I need it.

And is the place to buy it safe to give your information to.

thanks a ton

Re: 1999 GT Theftlock radio

The code is something a person would use to lock/unlock the theft det. This consists of 3 or 4 digits. Which should have been writen down if someone set the code.

IF your radio is locked,
then all you can do is try and guess the code.
The dealer cant reset it either,
they send them in to Delco or whoever does thier repairs.
