starter, headlights, fuelpump, sputtering.

i recently purchased an 86 mustang gt, with a newer 5.0 HO. 4-speed stick. 1st prob. i noticed is fuel pump stays on constantly, with key in on pos, lights, heater cause it to surge. 2nd headlights only, turn on and off constantly. i have to hold the bright switch on to keep them on, let go and they go off, or go off after a second, min, varies. doesn't affect running lights blinkers, etc. 3rd car runs great sometimes, usually starts sputtering and jerking when trying to maintain speed, 25 to ? let off gas its ok idles down fine, push gas speeds up fine, try to hold speed, sputters, jerks. it's an intermittant problem. 4th, starter screams like the drive is going out. before i could replace it, about 55 it engauged and screemed for a few till i got pulled over and shut off the eng. turn the key on and it tryed to crank(noticed that fuel pump stopped working at this point) left it parked at the side of the road till after work, still wouln't crank, still no fuel pump, or any other power. but the cable from batt to solinoid was hotter than hell. dis. neg. to drag home, replaced starter, stared right up, got to bout 20 in 2nd, when it started screaming again, went back and replaced solinoid, went out again and it started screaming again, about 20 in 2nd. like for some reason the starter is trying to engauge when driving. I've checked the voltage with a multimeterand it stays around 14 v, wiggle tested all the wires i could get my hands on, thumped all electro-mech devices, nothing seems to recreate the problem, except for the headlights flashing on and off the engine will sit and idle and rev up and hold difrent levels of rpms, never trying to engauge the starter. down the road won't do 20 mph. any ideas on any of the problems would be gratly appr. thanks.
