98 grand am gt not starting/ Brakes

ok so where do i begin? Starting a few months ago, every so often the rear brakes locked up- ie the backend of he car jolted when the brakes where applied, and more recently i noticed it does it when it hasn't been driven daily or it is wet out, it goes away after i drive it for awhile but then the ABS light came on while i was just parked waiting for my food in the drive thru and it started doing it when applied the slightest pressure to the brakes. THEN the car did not want to start at all seemed like the battery only all the lights and radio were working. did not have time to deal so i walked to work....the next day it started right up. whats going on? i'm sure the battery is good. its not that old.

Re: 98 grand am gt not starting/ Brakes

if you have drum brakes on the rear wheels a leaky wheel cylinder will coat the shoes with brake fluid causing them to lock up until the brake fluid gets burned off after a few minutes of driving.

The starting issue sounds like the passlock (antitheft) ignition lock is beginning to fail.
