I have a 99 mustang GT with power windows. I think that the window has come out of its track...how do I remove the door panel without tearing it up? How is the window attached to the opening mechanism? Appreciate any help I can get.

Re: How do you remove a door panel to access the window mechanism?
1st look for any visable screws, specially around pull handle. use a screwdriver to gently pull the plastic piece away from the handle area, same with the one covering the mirror.then lift upwards on the window, lock, section. lookunder these areas for screws. look or feel all edges of the door for screws or plastic clips. then try to lift the panel, if it doesn't lift off, then it's clipped on, I usually try to go under the front or back bottem corner to try to pull, or pry the door panel away. once the first few clips let go, towhere you can get your fingers under it, move to the next one and give it short quick jerks to pul it loose. after the panel is free it will lift off of the window moulding. the window is either bolted or rivited to the regulator. if it's rivited, before you try to drill the rivits, look at the back and front tracks for a bolted piece that can be removed, then put the window down and get it back in track and put it up, bolt piece back on, check up and down movement. and adjust as needed. also check the rivits that hold the regulator on, and the main track that the window slides on. hope this helps, i'm a bodyman, and can help with most body related questions.
