Engine help

I just got a 1988 Civic Hatchback DX from my brother for free. The car runs good but, the car has no VTEC because it had a engine swap Because the engine broke down too many times. I want to swap the engine for a B16B JDM DOHC VTEC engine and i was wondering if that would fit in my car. If not is there a place were i can buy a mount kit so it will if.

Also if the engine will go in. Can u Turbo kit this engine?

Re: Engine help

Look in the FAQs, there is plenty of info in there to find out what you can and can't swap. That would have answered your question I believe Kris has a post in there with all the engine swapping stuff.

Are you sure you don't mean the B16A? The B16B was the CTR engine and requires you to either convert to OBD-1 or 2. Plus its alot more expensive than the B16A.

Re: Engine help

lol i know it is the CTR engine. i would have to convert the engine to OBD-1 i know that already

But i was looking at the K20A now lol . But if i poor that much money on a engine i think i just going to buy a new car. Because DX already has 200xxx miles.

Now i been think that i should just Keep how the civic is now and just save money and buy a 3000gt VR4 for like 6k because 300 HP AWD and there nice looking. or 300zx TT for 6-7k 300HP RWD, or SRT-4 223HP i think FWD for 8-9k

Re: Engine help

Youll never touch a 300zx TT for under 20k (likely 23ish), srt-4 for under 10, and they are under rated by mopar, thye dont have 223, its higher.
