stock turbo?
Well I'm about to buy a 91 Talon TSI AWD with a bad headgasket. The guy only wants $500 for it. When I took a peek at the turbo it said TD05 on it. Is that the stock turbo? I did a little research and I couldn't find a straight answer, so I thought I would ask you guys. This is my first DSM, and I don't know much about them.

Re: stock turbo?
There are many turbos that come with the TD05 compressor housing. Chances are it is a stock turbo. I bought my 1990 TSI AWD with a blown headgasket and it had a Big 16g though
. If you write down some of the numbers and search for them either here or on Google, you should be able to find what kind of turbo it is.

Re: stock turbo?
Quick way to see if it's a 14b/16g is to take the intake off and look at the compressor wheel. 14b's have a single leve of blades, 16g's have a double level.
