Re: Porsche 911 carerra rs

I think it's just the regular 73 RS with some lights and extra decals and a inside rollbar...that said it's a great kit! Engine detail is excellent, but can be greatly improved by adding wiring and fuel injection tubing.

Re: Porsche 911 carerra rs

Looks like a great kit to make, although the Gulf GT40 next to it would be more my cup of tea

Kind regards,
Bill

Re: Porsche 911 carerra rs

Enthusiast kits are my favorites, they are a bit more expensive but they worth their money.

Hope tho see your Porsche done soon

Re: Porsche 911 carerra rs

I once build the Carrera RS 1974 and I - if I have to choose for a subject - I´d always prefer the Enthusiast-kits over everything that is out there. With these kits you are really building the car. So good luck and make sure to check fittment before starting to glue anything together!

Sorry, my mistake, for a moment this morning I thought it was meant in a cynical way. I need to apologize and rather be thankful for you complimenting my builds Thank you. But that is enough writing non-build-relating-things in your thread. Again sorry for causing misinterpretations!

Re: Porsche 911 carerra rs

Hello Hompe,

this car is nice once built, but you'll have to improve some parts and be patient.

I built this kit a few years ago, it's not so easy to build.

My first advice is to take care of suspensions and brake systems, they don't fit really good.
some parts have the same disease, especially engine hood which didn't fit well on mine.

moreover to be realistic and accurate you'll have to increase suspensions length, this is a Porsche and this the Safari rallye !
don't follow the building instructions for that but try some test fitting with your own position.

the klaxons also have to be corrected if I remember well.

And more than everything, take much care of external roll bar, they are very fragile !

I can't swear I have good enough reference pics, but I have black and white ones in a book...
do you want me to scan them for you ?

if you add some details in the engine you'll have a very nice model.

happy building

Phil
