intentifing engine size

Need to know how to find the engine size on a 1998 Sunfire, four cyl.. I do not have access to the car, it is 200 miles from me. Need information on how to identify the 2.2 from the 2.4 so I can relay that to another person who will be looking under the hood for me. Will be replacing a starter.

identifying. if it is the 2.2 the throttle body will be in the back. the 2.4 has the throttle body in the front. Or if you look on the engine it will say 2200 or twin cam 2.4.

Re: intentifing engine size

Sir,
Thank you so much for the info. That did the trick. Got the new stater at O'Rileys, took the old one off and put the new one on, works great. I was helping a friend of mine fix his daughters' Sunfire that conked out in her dorm parking lot 200 miles from me. However, the old one had a crack in the cast housing that covers the starter gear. This, I found out later, happened with the previous starter. Is this a common thing with the 2.2 engine?
