I have a '95 Pathfinder SE. I've had it for almost 2 years now. No complaints.
But here's something my fiance noticed. The engine temperature indicator on the instrument cluster panel had never gone above about a quarter of the way up the temperature scale. I wouldn't have given it a second look untill - like I said - my fiance pointed out it to me. In my defence , the needle always goes to the same position once the engine reaches its normal operating temperature. So I assumed it was normal. But now that think about it, all other cars I've driven had the temperature needle smack in the middle once the engine warmed up.So I wondering what is the the "normal" engine temperature indicator postion for a 95 pathfinder? If my engine is running too cold, what could be the problem? |

Re: 95 Pathfinder engine temperature indicator
You're not the first to ask. I think it's pretty normal. Typically they run below the halfway mark.

Re: 95 Pathfinder engine temperature indicator
Mine runs right in the middle. You could try replacing the sending unit for the gauges, it's right on top of the engine in front.

Re: 95 Pathfinder engine temperature indicator
My 1995 Pathfinder XE does the same thing. In the summer, however, when the temps reach the 90s to the 100s, the gauge will make its way to the middle with no problem. I think the engine really does run that cold.
