how much coolant does a LT1 take.

I wanted to know how much coolant it takes for you to fill you LT1 radiater. When I did the swap it got completely drained and I put 2 gallons in it I checked and its very low how much do they take. I havent driven the car in 2 months and since its been so cold out i deceided to check the fluids and the antifreeze is low.

15.3qts (total capacity) if you have an auto trans
15.1qts (total) if you have a manual trans
17.8qts (total) if you happen to have a Vette

Please re-read what I posted. As far as why the differences, I suppose only GM could tell you.

Cause a manual doesn't have a cooler line going through the radiator.
