Cool loose lug nut

i'm tying to help out a friend who just had a 22 point check done on her bmw. They told her she has a loose lug nut and it should be replaced to be safe. They also quoted her 500 bucks. I'm trying to get more info from her but in the mean time, anyone had an issue with this on a bmw. I had it on a firebird years ago and the tire came off the car. it sheared the lug nuts but thankfully the tire only went into the wheel well. I think she should get it fixed, but not sure abou the cost??
thanks

Re: loose lug nut

I'd be more keen to get a second opinion. The 1 series cars have not been on the market for too long, I presume that the only people that have had the car's wheels off were in the factory. I'd be inclined to ask why there is one that is lose and why your friend would have to bear to cost of repairing it. It sounds a bit shonky to me.

Re: loose lug nut

he's got a good point ,thing is though the prob had to be caused by them but don't fret too much 3-4 lugs hold a tire just fine.BMW dealers are a lil outragous on their billing too i'm guessing it came from that 22 point check and fixing the lug prob.?
