Buick Regal Computer Replacement
I am putting in a Delco remanufactured Engine Computer in my 91 Buick Regal GS. This is the second replacement. (250,000 miles) When I replaced it before I removed the Prom from the old one and installed it in the replacement one. The Delco part numbers match (16132792). Do I need to remove the Prom from the one presently in the car and install it in this new one. (My Haynes manual indicates that because several GM cars use the same computer, the Prom needs to be changed, but wondering if with matching computer part numbers do I still need to make the change?) Thank you for any help you can give.
