Re: is there a tuner/chip
Besides like an SAFC or something of that sort? Well DSMlink is good...but yeah its expensive and needs a reworked Eprom ECU. There is no cheap "tuner chip" for our cars.

Re: is there a tuner/chip
Lots of options. If his car is 95, chances are he has an EPROM ecu, being thats the only year the 2g's had Eprom's. It costs about $40 for the ecu to be socketed, and then he can buy any 'chip' he wants, or burn his own.
Dsmlink is the best option...

Re: is there a tuner/chip
It's not necessarily worse, it just doesn't have a socketed ECU, so you'd have to buy one, but the car is not any "worse" off.

Re: is there a tuner/chip
It would certanly be better if it were 95.. If he wants to socket a 95, and install a ROM chip he'll need to invert the CAS, and swap the plug wires. In my book, more work = worse...
