WIP: New Camaro with an Italian suite

Hi folks!

New year and new projects, just had to brake the seal of this one and try out my christmas paint. It's a quick job so far.

Spent about two hour's with sanding, primer, base coat, middle coat and now it's just some clear to seal everything and give it some shine.

The paint is from Zero, Arancio Atlas from Lamborghini and I must say it was a joy to spray.
No fuss at all applying it on automotive primer/base coats.
Dries in an instant, almost ready to touch before you take it out of the paint boot.

Anyway, on to the pictures, no sunlight though as they are taken in the middle of the night with a blizzard shaking the house about and still is when morning broke.

I'm thinking of using the supplied wheels but painted black or dark grey with a chrome lip, haven't really looked at them yet so I don't know if it's possible?
Maybe a swap to something else will do the trick, haven't got a clue to what if so?

'Til next time

Re: WIP: New Camaro with an Italian suite

That's one hell of a bright color. Looks good too. Where did you get it? How about some lime green wheels? Just kidding, I think either black or gray would look good as long as you keep the chrome lip. What color do you have planned for the interior? I'm looking forward to seeing this one finished.

Re: WIP: New Camaro with an Italian suite

Thank's guys! I like the colour myself.
It's from Zero and I got it from Hiroboy at http://www.hiroboy.com/catalog/

After the blizzard past by the sun showed it's face just before it set and with the clear on I took some new pictures.
It sure lit up in the sun

Hmm!? Lime green wheels, think I have something like that laying around. Maybe I'll use it ................NOT!

NO WAIT!!! I WAS JUST KIDDING!!!

Color looks better in the sun. It has a nice two tone highlight where the sun hit it directly.

Re: WIP: New Camaro with an Italian suite

Something very odd has occured.
I bought and finished a kit the same year

Here is a little teaser more pictures after the upcoming weekend and this year's first competition here in Sweden.

Hi,

looks very good so far. I´m looking forward to see photos of the finished car.

Did you have trouble concerning the fit of the parts? A friend of mine stated problems with the interior hull, the windows and the chassis.

Pictures will come, just hang in there.
There was some issues with the fitment, I omitted the radiator and that solved some of the chassi problems. Some brute force, glue and tape to hold it together and it was fine.
Had no problems with the interior or windows but the fit of them isn't the best with some gaps around the circumference.
All in all it's quite a strange kit with odd solutions and strange looking parts.

But it builds into a nice looking beast if you like to slam something together in a hurry without much details in it.
The decals are a joke I think, ill printed photoreductions. I didn't even care to put the meters in as the are just a blob of different colours.

Thank's for looking and taking time to respond.

Sure, you'll see it there.
It's just a matter of staying in good shape, get up early saturday morning and start driving.

See you there and thank you.

Re: WIP: New Camaro with an Italian suite

Thank you all!

Pictures will come as soon as I see the sun again. It has been snowing for a couple of days and not much light to work with.
