Does anyone recognize this emblem/badge/logo?
I recently picked up a car emblem/badge/logo, but I can't identify it (then why'd I pick it up, you ask?...so did my wife). I was hoping one of you experts out there could give me a hand.
Thanks in advance for any input.

Re: Does anyone recognize this emblem/badge/logo?
I am pretty sure it's from the late 1950's for a V8 car.
My guess for manufacturer is AMC, possibly from a Rambler. IMO its pretty rare, in excellent condition and absolutely worth picking up!! |

Re: Does anyone recognize this emblem/badge/logo?
I did pick it up...now...what am I going to do with it (my wife's comments!)?
Most of the V8 emblems I've seen all actually have an "8"...I guess because it was being promoted as a big selling point, just like the way most cars started showing the DOHC emblem, etc. I've gotten a number of links to different images. They have all been close, but so far, no cigar. I've spent a lot of time looking online, but for the most part, I cannot find misc. emblems for cars...only the major ones, like with the mfg. or brand logos, etc. This thing is big for an emblem and weighs several pounds...heavy metal. The black background filler seems to be plastic...the rest of it is magnetic, so I'm sure it's chromed iron. Thanks for the input, and I'll try researching your suggestion. |

Just a follow-up fyi in case anyone else has an interest, it turns out that this belongs on the front grill on a 1959 Buick Electra 225.
