need help with my 84 bmw 325e 5 speed

i am having major problems with my bimmer, in the mornings when i go out to start up it takes about a half hour to heep an off beat idle going, i have to crank and crank, it will start for about 2 seconds then die. once it will stay running ill drive off, it usually dies a few times before i get to the road, but when i get going it bucks and kicks much like learning to drive a stick for the first time. it will usually do this for about 15 minutes then it will stop. but it will still hesitate, almost like it loses power for a split second then gets it back again, just little jerks. also when im driving it the gauges will suddenly stop working and i will lose control of the gas petal, wont rev or anything, but it is still running just like the feul pump turns off too because it will die in less than a minute if i dont turn the key back a click not off just one click and back up again then the gauges will shoot back up and it will take off again untill it happens again. can anybody please help me with this problem. any info would be helpfull.

THis happend to mine

You might have an electrical problem.. WIth me I had the same things going on, but my battery would die also! I spent 210 bucks on my car, to find out it was a bolt that was loose! I but in new alt. new batt.. etc... Check the wiring on your car.. There is a wire that goes from your Alt. to the starter.. Make sure that, that wire is on tight. if not your car doesnt charge properly! Maybe thats it, if not I dont know mi amigo! Good luck, and let me know what happends!!!
