New Leganza owner here....

I just recently bought a 2000 Leganza for $700...body is in good shape and so is motor. It just needs a few things and maybe yall can help me with advice...ok here it goes...
1st) Temp needle is fluctuating(sp) like crazy when I'm in traffic....it goes all the way up to the H then right back down to below normal reading but the car is not overheating at all..but I sometimes smell antifreeze in the car? The temp reading will up and down within a second(weird)
2) Steering wheel has some play it in..

any advice would be of great help.....

Question Re: New Leganza owner here....

I have the same problem in my 2000 Laganza. Temp gauge starts rising all the way to the top and then back down. But engine is not hot, plenty of fluid, no leaks, no steam. Dealer said there may be a sensor shorting out.
Also, I have noticed, while I am driving, the engine has a loss of power, RPM's drop a little, and then it is fine. Then the ABS and Airbag warning lights will come on but just temporarily. Sometimes this happens allot and then sometimes not at all. This happens with and without the air conditioning on.
