Got MUD.....will travel....

It all started with THIS....

A day or two later...lead to THIS....

Pictures don't do the mud any justice, trust me, that stuff was CAKED on THICK inside those wheel-wells; in fact, I finally had the chance to take her down and wash her, I plugged up 3 do-it-yourself car-wash booths, and took well over 2-3hrs to get all that crap off.

But, she cleans up nicely.....

Word of wise, don't allow mud to sit and *form* for more then a week

Just a word too.... truck looks damn good muddy, I hate to admit, cause I HATE it when my truck's dirty!

Re: Got MUD.....will travel....

You know rodeored would laugh at you for calling that mud LOL.

I didnt go anywhere near dirt/mud after the snow. Didnt go anywhere when it snowed either, though I do wanna test out the locker in snow before I need to drive in rush hour with it.

Re: Got MUD.....will travel....

You mean like his getting mud INSIDE the truck/driver's door??

Heck NO!

Maybe in my 20's though, it never used to bother me. I don't even like getting mud/dirt in the back of the camper when we're camping; I've gotten real picky about that.

Like I mentioned, the inside of this Rodeo doesn't even have a stain on the carpeting; seats have covers and they're washed every other month. Kids are only allowed water, nothing sticky or staining, floor mats have been turned upside down since the day I bought the truck - so all outside gunk washes off.

Re: Got MUD.....will travel....

i love the mud but i tore my exhaust up in it. mine cleans up almost as nice as yours

mines like yours is inside there are no stians in it and i'm constantly on the girlfriend for getting food in it and stuff. i wash and wax it every week but the previous owner didnt so the shine is never as good as i'd like it to be.

ramblin, i really like your rims could you direct me to where you got them? they look beast.

Re: Got MUD.....will travel....

Andrew j -your's shines up real nice...love your Passport wheel-well flares!

My Rodeo didn't come with the flares that are on it, from factory, I grabbed those off a junk-yard '96 Rodeo bout 2 months ago or so.

If you'd like to know of a very inexpensive wax program set-up that you can/should be able to get a Walmart or Checkers that I use on both my Burgundy vehicles; brings the speckles right out and lasts for quite a while.

2 products you'll need are: Mother's caranuba *cleaner wax*, apply this after washing the truck on a dry surface.

Then very soon after that, apply Mother's Synflex wax

The cleaner wax will assist in carefully removing any paint contaminents and prepare it for an actual coat of wax....I HIGHLY recommend a synthetic wax, following a very mild cleaner wax as the synthetic lasts longer, at least in our Colorado harsh sun.

And, the Rodeo in my picture, has NEVER spent more then 3-4 days in a garage; she sits outside in all elements 365 days a year; not too mention she's been used as a 4x4 trail truck, tow/boat hauler with many many days in the hot desert sun during our 5yr life-span of living in the Vegas, NV territory.

The two products I mentioned can both be bought for around $20-25 at most together; make sure to use VERY soft material.

Here's the Rodeo fresh after last wax job....I typically wax every 3-4 mnths

I applied a 2nd coat of the Synflex wax several days later to ensure full coverage

Oh, and the wheels, I got them through Disount Tire during one of their sales.

Re: Got MUD.....will travel....

yeah my pictures hide the imperfections really well lol the hood is really beat up cause the previous owner plowed through a pack of deer at 60 mph and a branch fell on it durin a hurricane and the grill is broken. the only way to fix the hood is paint i think. but i've also got lots of little annoying door dings only one big one where a friend jumped through the window and kicked the side. i will definately try that wax process though. but your truck looks awesome. mine lived in a garage while the previous owner had it but they NEVER washed it really before i picked it up they sprayed it with the hose to make it look clean.

edit: i went to discount tire and found those rims (AWESOME PRICE) can you tell me what size tires those are though?

Re: Got MUD.....will travel....

Should be able too; but if you do any off-roading, I would not air down your tires at all.

Keep me posted, and take a pic if you get them.

Incase you're wondering though, the tire that's on my truck, they don't make them anymore, they were replaced by the Yokohama Geolander ATS.

If you're in the need of new tires, I would SERIOUSLY look at the Firestone Destination A/T's or Bridgestone Revo's - both of these tires are getting excellent ratings on the tirerack.com website.

I had a set of the Revo's previous to these Yokohama's, they were AWESOME! Wished I'd have bought a 2nd set; and when these ones wear out, I'll be getting a set of Revo's.

Re: Got MUD.....will travel....

yeah im going to get the friestone destinations probably cuase they do rate so well and only go for 93 a tire. im jsut worried about putting a tire on there that isnt big enough and then not getting the aggresive look you've got. its what im aiming for
