I'm going to the US F1 Grand Prix!!!

Supposedly right in front of pit row. I'm excited! And before hand there is a Porsche race and a Ferrari Race!!!!!!

Just felt like sharing!

Have fun

Some advice from my experience at F1 GPs.

Take earplugs - a single F1 V10 is painfully loud. A full field is incredibly loud and 19,000 rpm is beyond comprehension especially for an hour and one half.

Make sure you pay attention at all times. F1 Cars don't often crash at high speed but when they do - well be ready to duck for debris (Melbourne 2001).

Take a cellphone - ring a friend just before Montoya comes onto the straight... and then hold the phone up as he blasts past... (instant envy)

Take a small portable TV if you can esp if the coverage is live on free-to-air. But take a radio walkman - there's usually a live commentary channel available.

Take some photos during the parade lap esp if you want to try a pan shot - it is the only time you will get more than a few cars in shot (apart from a Safety Car lap).

Check out the merchandising stands (but purchase AFTER the race - it's usually cheaper unless you have a hard to get item).

If you get the chance wander down to a slow corner at the end of a straight... then you get to see how quickly the things slow up and then accelerate...

Very nice tips replicant.

Too bad I'm not going. But I am thinking about going next year. Does anybody know when it is going to be next year and how much tickets are? I am really interested.

this thread sucks. You're like "guess what I'm doing tomorrow" and then I come in here to guess and you've already told us.

Kicker, it's a mental guessing game. You guess while you wait for the page to load. (56k users have longer to guess.) And besides, I'm too excited to be patient! :silly2:

Replicant, thanks for the tips. I'll be sure to keep them in mind.

JE123, this is just talk, but there is rumor that this will be the last year (at least for a while) of F1 in the States. Apparently they weren't getting the reaction they were wanting. But then again it's just talk. :shrugs shoulders:

Ok forumla 1 has always been a team sport.
Its why they run 2 cars for most of the teams, and all of the major teams.

It means if one car is doing badly the other car can go hard to win, and when both cars are doing well they are able to work together to gain maximum points for the team, and for the drivers.

Shumacker backed off so that whats his face could take full race points, and secure 2nd place in the championship. And at the same time both cars still score maximum manufactors points, and Shuie is still in for yet another season as champion.
They didn't rip anybody off, unless you consider them being the fastest drivers in the world a rip off.

That's cool how Shumacher let Barichello (sp?) come by him on the last straight. He said something in the interview afterwards about them trying to cross the line at the same time, but were off by like .01 seconds. They said something like it was the closest finish ever

Perhaps the crowd were booing for a different reason then?Schumacher has the seasons
sewn up.Ferrari has the constructors championship sewn up.Rather than fuck around trying to rig the results any further,,perhaps they'd get a bit more respect if they allowed their drivers to do some actual racing for a change. It's a simple concept, the fans go to the track in the expectation that they will see the best driver on the day lifting the trophy at the end of the race.Al Ferrari have achieved in this race is to prove that because they have far superior cars to anybody else, they can afford to play stupid games.
The crowd weren't impressed,the commentator wasn't impressed,the FIA won't be impressed.
