Sliding Door Nylon Roller Broken - 2000

The power sliding door on my 2000 Windstar appears to have a broken (worn out) white nylon roller. This nylon roller is on the support hinge at the rear of the sliding door, and rolls along the black plastic outside channel underneath the rear pop-out windows. Opening and closing the sliding door is rough as this roller wheel clunks along the rear channel. I would like to replace this roller myself if possible. Is the roller wheel available as a part or do you replace the entire hinge? Has anyone done this? Can you give me some instructions on getting the roller out of the track for replacement? Thanks a lot!

Hi
take a look at y2kford.com. If you search under parts on the "collision" side, and under side entry door, they list a roller assembly for about $20. Unfortunately, the illustration for the part will not load - at least not for me. Anyway, pop into your local Ford place and price the part. My guys locally are always happy to print out a diagram showing where the part is located, which should help you figure out how to open it up. My manual is for a '96 so that will not help much. I have purchased cd manuals for other cars like these:

It is not as good as the "real" hardcopy Ford publication, but is workable for projects such as you are looking at.

Send me your email and I'll forward a copy of the repair procedure (Word format) from my 2001 Ford DVD Service manual.
