Opening and closing the sliding door is rough as this roller wheel clunks along the rear channel. I would like to replace this roller myself if possible. Is the roller wheel available as a part or do you replace the entire hinge? Has anyone done this? Can you give me some instructions on getting the roller out of the track for replacement? Thanks a lot!

Hi
take a look at y2kford.com. If you search under parts on the "collision" side, and under side entry door, they list a roller assembly for about $20. Unfortunately, the illustration for the part will not load - at least not for me. Anyway, pop into your local Ford place and price the part. My guys locally are always happy to print out a diagram showing where the part is located, which should help you figure out how to open it up. My manual is for a '96 so that will not help much. I have purchased cd manuals for other cars like these:

It is not as good as the "real" hardcopy Ford publication, but is workable for projects such as you are looking at.
