Hey got a problem w/ radio, hopefully you can help

Hey im the new owner of a 99 Mirage DE 2dr coupe.

Since i bought it i have noticed that the sounds isnt good at all, kinda sounds like im in a tunnel.
i took it to my friend who works as a car aduio specialist at Best buy and had him take a look at it. we took out the HU and all hell broke loose, the wires were mostly held in w/ ducktape and a few other problems, also the pervious owner put four speakers on a channel one of a one channel amp, baiscly its a mess.
here i what i need: wiring diagram for the speakers in the car and a wiring diagram for the HU neither of which i can find (the chilton book i own has nothing on the speaker wires) so if i could get some help with that i would be very greatful
