Unhappy 2000 BMW 323 ci overheated -- did I kill it?

Driving down the interstate a belt came off (2 belts actually -- not broken, just flew off for some reason). Immediately pwr steering quit, battery light came on and engine heat shot up to max (no smoke though). Had to drive about 1.5 mi. to get out of traffic -- it's going in to the dealer tomorrow, but I'm dying to know if I caused irrepairable engine damage by driving with it overheated. Does anyone know the likelihood?

mmm u probably did not kill it but i would not recomend doing that again. LOL but honestly i think it will be ok obviously all the parts need to be inspected like the power steering pump the water pump and crap but it should all be OK good thing u did not try to keep driving it like some people i know would.
