Just because a car is made in a certain country doesn't mean that it is anything like another car from that country. An example of this is Mitsubishi reliability, just because they are Japanese doesn't mean that they are as reliable as a Honda or Toyota. Cardomain |

Re: Alarms
Well, according to what's been happening in the market these days I'd have to say Compustar. They've always had rock steady product but has been behind Directed Electronics (viper, clifford, python, etc.) until this year. DEI has came out with many new remotes, most of which was to compete directly with Compustar. The problem is that there are many quality issues with them especially dealing with range. Compustar has never had this issue.
To put them in order..... 1. Compustar Pro 2. Compustar 3. Directed 4. Code Alarm 5. Crimestopper, Audiovox Remember, you get what you pay for. What ever alarm you pick, make sure to ad additional sensors, batteries, and the like to make stiffen up your protection.

Re: Alarms
yea, back-up batteries (done properly) are cool ...... they cut or take off the battery cable and it's still blaring ...... really pisses them off. I ave heard most places have banned alarms that go off if the car is not physically touched be a person, brick, tire iron, etc ... is this true ?

Re: Alarms
I don't know. I've heard rumors but haven't seen anything nor have I had any customers come in to complain. I guess you could have problems if your alarm just keeps going off and the cops are called to tell you to turn it off. You know, I can't tell you the last time I've had a false alarm with one of my alarms in my car. Infact, my wife thought hers didn't work until someone very lightly backed into her car while she was getting her nails done.
