1987 accord DX or 1996 sunfire gt??

both are dealer trade ins.

87 accord 4dr, carbed, 187,000 KM timing belt done at 96,000 , few rust spots and holes in fender lips and rear part of rockers, 5spd, everything works. $1000 CND

96 sunfire GT 2dr, 2.4L, 5spd, 240,000 KM, complete service records from it being sold (same dealership, original owner traded in for new car) interior and exterior in great condition. $2500 CND

im looking mostly for a car to drive daily and to play around with, something that will take some gravel roads, and not break down every week. ive heard several stories of how the 2.4L is really bad for engine trouble and i dont know if its all bad as ive only heard this from GM mechs.
