FW24 Tamiya kit question

Are ALL Tamiya FW24 kits like this?
Do they ALL have stands and removeable wheels etc.?

Tempting... maybe a FW24 and F2001 build for my next project :P

But i dont quite get why tamiya made the wheel for this version like the real car and not do it for the Ferrari

Is uncle Stevenski going to build one? That'll be cooool!! I've seen this kit before,really fantastic,definitely the best 1/20 F1 kit ever from Tamiya. So when do you plan to show us some progress? 2F2F LOL

I've been wanting to try an F1 since I started this game.
In fact, I think the F310B and F2001 were the 3rd and 4th kits I ever bought and I also have a 1/24 McLaren Mp/4/5/69 something or other.

For my first build in this genre, I'd like it to NOT be a Ferrari ('cos I'm stubborn like that) and everyone more or less put me off the McLaren when I asked a few months ago.

I came across a version of this FW24 kit in my LHS about a year ago and loved it 'cos it had wires and metal bits in it but the REALLY high price put me off. I haven't been able to find another one like that - with all the extra goodies in there - except a clear view version (maybe that one was a clearview and I just didn't notice? )

With the Polish driver Kubica making a name for himself last season, a BMW powered car seems like a nice idea. (I KNOW it's not this version of the car!)

I'd ask about AM parts, but this would be STRICTLY OOB
(I do have an off the wall idea for the 1/24 McLaren though...)

I've been wanting to try F1 too! But i prefer revell stuff~ I was coveting the revell F2003GA for a long time~~ But you know, just like Dr.G said: always too much thought but too little time!!!

the FW24 was the first kit i built upon my return to the hobby one year ago. it's a great kit, and i didn't do it justice. if you can find one, SMS makes a beautiful detail kit for the FW24.

I have this kit in the clear view along with the SMS detail kit. I might be willing to sell if the price is right. Been collecting kits for a while now and looking to sell a few non Ferrari kits.

An supplemntary question.

There is a reasonably priced kit on ebay but WITHOUT tires. Are tyres available as an aftermarket part? Any ideas where they could be sourced from?

It would be a bit of a hassle, bit it's an in-production kit so spares are availble. A new set of tyres would probably run you between 500 and 700 yen. If they're missing also, the tire decals may cost another 200-300 yen. I understand that Rainbow Ten has a decent Tamiya parts replacement service.

Thanks - at the end of the day, it will probably be cheaper and quicker just to buy a complete kit.
(apart from that, I just went to the LHS to quickly pick up some paint and came back with a Miuria - now how the hell did that happen )
