Question about tubular o2 housing
I just got my tubular 2.5 inch o2 housing in the mail today and decided to put it on. Once i got the stocker off i was comparing and they were a bit different. The waste gate passage on the stock is way bigger than the tubular housing, and in no way did the gasket match up. Well i shaved some off of the bigger hole so that at least they would match up and installed it anyway to see what would happen. It doesn't boost creep as bad as the stock one did but it still did it. Im not really worried about it now but when i go to install the E316G, i dont want any boost creep. Of course i will get the evo fully ported, but doesn't that turbo have the same shaped wastegate hole as the t25. If the passage doesnt line up with the wastegate hole on the t25 theres no way it would line up to a ported evo 3. Do yall think it'd be better for performance if i were to just port the stock 2g o2 housing or keep my expensive ass tubular o2 housing (which obviously cant be ported) with the ported evo 3? And, what do you think about the differences in wastegate passages on the two housings? Also i noticed my exhaust mani has a small crack in it, so ill be replacing it later on, but was wondering if it would affect anything. I havent noticed anything, but im sure it was like that when i got the car, and since its my first turbo car i have nothing to compare it to.
Tubular o2 Then stock housing, this ones a ported one that i found on the net but mine isn't ported. See how the wastegate passage is alot different

Re: Question about tubular o2 housing
I think you wasted a shitload of money on that POS. Get rid of it and port the stocker, that's what you should have done in the first place.

Re: Question about tubular o2 housing
Well the damage is already done now I was just wondering If the wastegate passages would make a difference on the evo 3 since the stocker is bigger on the inlet but small on the outlet and the tubular is the same size all the way through. I guess since nobody knows i will port the stocker and compare both of em and come back with the results.

Re: Question about tubular o2 housing
I would try and resell that on ebay or something. Ported 2g o2 FTW
