Talking MazdaX's New Project.

Say hello to my little friend.. =)

1995 Kawasaki Ninja 600-F1 ZX-6R 9,820 miles. Only paid 1,000.00 for it =)

Deal went down like this : Kid dumped it down on both sides - In school zones so the fairings are all shot , the muffler is scratched up , the levers have scratches , the windshield broke in the corner , the mirrors are scratched up and the foot pegs are a little jacked up as well as the clutch & Crank cover. I have been ordering parts like crazy over the last 3 days and have only spent 200 bucks to replace everything =)

This is an awsome bike and I am surprised how much speed and punch it had to offer for a 600. Keeps up with the 750 GSX-R plenty. I can't complain since the same type of bikes around the same years on places like craigslist and ebay going for 2.5K & 3K + so it's all good to me =)

Pics.

Seriously
Lol...'when i'm done' That may be a few weeks out. Been busy with work a lot lately. flying all over explaining MSDS to people and shit -_-;

But the bike is awsome. If you are thinking of something economical but still has a crap load of punch - Let me put it down for you like this : My zx-6r has 97 hp stock , 40 ft lbs of torque , 0-60 in 3.2 seconds , 1/4 mile in something like 11.2 , 0-100 in 9 seconds. weighing in at only 400 lbs - It's a scary fast bike for such puny displacement in the bullet bike world.

Re: MazdaX's New Project.

I don't care if it's a few weeks.

This is my buddys Ninja

First year Ninja ever made. This thing is over 500lbs. 4 carb. Just a big bike. We put a lot of time into it and it's running great. I want the same bike, but less pound-wise. Just too heavy for what I like.

Re: MazdaX's New Project.

Can't dog on the old skewl man. I appreciate the antiques since they paved the way for the bullet bike revolution.

Well I did make some progress today - Decided to rebuild the crummy little mitsubishi fuel pump and get it back up to par. Took the 4 carb assembly out and cleaned it and rejetted them. Changed my plugs , popped in some royal purple and a oil filter. Fresh tank of gas with 1/2 can of seafoam , pressure washed the rear wheel , swing arm & chain and relubed with some cool looking blood red grease - Adjusted the chain , re routed some under tank/ seat wiring so no tension on plugs.

Tomorrow will be a re-fire up day if the fuel pump is working the way it's supposed to be. I might take some naughty vids =)

Re: MazdaX's New Project.

Well I worked on a few things today with the bike and the green Talon.

ZX6 : Cleaned the carbs, put on a new speedo cable, changed the oil, spark plugs, fuel filter, oil filter, Adjusted the clutches, cleaned up the frame & engine, regasketed the engine & clutch covers, then took it for a spin. Still have a small sputter between 3 - 6,000 rpm and me thinks it to be the igniter coils. So that's for another day..

Edit : I also peeled off the crummy gray splash vinyls.

As for the Talon...well I cleaned it out ? lol...

Naked side After ->

Night shot.

Re: MazdaX's New Project.

Not much happened today..

Put a new front motor mount on the MX-6 , new fuses , new intake duct , swapped out some console parts to prep for dropping in a different motor.
Gave my Ninja a red light special..lol.

Re: MazdaX's New Project.

Nice bike, got a good deal on it. I really dont like the older crotch rockets, for the simple reason of ugly body styles. I love the sleekness of newer school bikes, but thats just me. This one doesnt look to bad to be older.
