Thinking of trading for a 1999 Yukon Denali
Hi there, I recently came across an add where someone would like to trade a car or van for a 1999 Yukon Denali. I currently have a 2001 Pontiac Montana and have just about had it with the repairs. Ok, ok, most of it was general maintenance like brakes and spark plugs but it was just so frustrating that it all needed to be done so close together at a time when I was trying to really save money. (Oh, and I had to get the da*n intake valve problem fixed too!)
I've always like the look of the Yukons. (Well not the newer ones as much, I prefer the look of the older ones.) So anyways, I haven't called to get specifics about the vehicle yet and I would like to be a little bit informed before I do. Obviously I know to scan through this forum first but I thought I'd also ask. Are there common problems? Anything specific to the Yukon I should ask about? Or look at? In general, is this a good vehicle? Are the repair costs outrageous? (Most repairs/maintenance I can have done by my husband or my dad but when there is something bigger, more time consuming, troubling or difficult I do need to bring it in and would hate to spend a fortune fixing it because it is poorly designed or the parts cost a fortune.) The BIG question is - I have 3 kids. 2 in infant/toddler car seats and 1 in a booster seat. Do you think that 3 car/booster seats can be properly installed/fit in the back seat? The ad is asking for $11, 500 (Canadian) or to trade for a small car or van. Is this a reasonable price/trade if the vehicle is in good condition? Thanks for any help, Amanda |

Re: Thinking of trading for a 1999 Yukon Denali
Hey Amanda,
As far as trade in values go, I am not to sure. When I was looking to find my Denali, I went to http://www.nadaguides.com for values. As for questions on vehicle matience, http://www.edmunds.com has comprehensive lists of common things that go wrong. I love my 2003 Yukon Denali. Not sure about the kids seat, but I believe I have seen threads and it does fit, not sure though. Good luck in your search |
